There are no elections scheduled for anywhere in Ireland in 2017, unless the Government loses the support of the Dáil, the NI Executive loses the support of the Assembly, the British government loses the support of the House of Commons or Michael D. Higgins is unable to continue as President.
There may be a referendum on allowing Irish citizens abroad to vote in presidential elections, but there are no definite plans yet.
Presidential Election: Unless Michael D. Higgins is unopposed running for a second term, there will be a presidential election in November of this year.
Local and European Elections: Scheduled for June 2019.
UK General Election: Voters in Northern Ireland will choose their representatives in the House of Commons in Westminster.
